Indusoft Web Studio is Now “Edge”
Indusoft Web Studio is discontinued, and new versions and product improvements will only be released with Intouch Edge, or simply “Edge.”
Previously, Indusoft Web Studio and Intouch Edge were sold separately, even though they were the same product, but this is no longer the case as of version 2020: the Indusoft Web Studio software is discontinued, and new versions and product improvements will only be released with Intouch Edge, or simply “Edge.”
It is not just a name change; from this point on, the software is part of the Wonderware/AVEVA products, thus taking advantage of the benefits that this entails.
By being under the umbrella of Wonderware/AVEVA, the possibility of obtaining integrator or end-customer contracts, which offer different levels of support, is opened up. Likewise, the range of license options also increases, including unlimited and subscription-type licenses.
Additionally, it includes native integration with different products from the Wonderware/AVEVA portfolio (System Platform, Edge Management, Insight …), thus allowing the system’s capabilities to be increased without the need to invest in more complex developments.
The latest version of Indusoft Web Studio is 2020, and to date, two more versions of Intouch Edge have already been released.

The update process is very simple since Intouch Edge is 100% compatible with projects created in previous versions of Indusoft Web Studio. In addition, at the license level, if you have an Indusoft Web Studio 2020 license, you can upgrade to Edge 2020 for free.
