TCP2RTU PoE<\/strong> is a transparent converter in both directions of the MODBUS TCP protocol, which runs over Ethernet, to the MODBUS RTU\/ASCII protocol, which runs over RS232, RS485, and RS422 lines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The converter is powered via an Ethernet cable using the PoE<\/strong> standard or a standard external power adapter. A power output terminal for external devices<\/strong> is also available. Both the converter and the connected device can be powered from PoE. The output can be enabled and disabled along with other parameters via the web interface<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

TCP2RTU PoE is part of a durable metal design: a DIN rail mount can also be ordered as an accessory.< \/p><\/p>\n

Operating Modes<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n
  • Modbus TCP > Modbus RTU:<\/span> The master (TCP) on Ethernet addresses the slave device (RTU) on the converter’s serial port.<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

  • Modbus TCP > Modbus ASCII:<\/span> The master (TCP) on Ethernet addresses the slave device (ASCII) on the converter’s serial port.<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

  • Modbus TCP Modbus RTU:<\/span>\n
      <\/p>\n
    • The converter behaves as a Modbus RTU slave with Modbus ID configuration on the serial line.<\/li>\n

      <\/p>\n

    • The data from the serial line in the Modbus RTU protocol is converted by the converter to Ethernet to the Modbus TCP protocol.<\/li>\n

      <\/p>\n

    • The Modbus ID can be configured to 0, then the converter converts all received data to Modbus TCP on Ethernet, or to 1 to 247, and then the converter converts to Modbus TCP only the data for this set ID.<\/li>\n

      <\/ul>\n

      <\/li>\n

      <\/p>\n

    • Modbus TCP Modbus ASCII<\/span>: Same as the previous case, except that the Modbus ASCII protocol is on the serial line<\/li>\n

      <\/p>\n

    • HTTP GET:<\/span> allows writing and reading data from Modbus RTU devices using http GET requests. For example, set.xml?id=31inst=4adr=123val=32752<\/span> writes with instruction code 0x04 to the device with ID 31 at address 123 the value 32752. <\/span> This function will be added in the next firmware version. The function will also be uploaded to the current hardware version. <\/li>\n

      • Serial line converter in both directions with Modbus RTU\/ASCII to Modbus TCP via Ethernet.<\/strong><\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • Power supply via standard PoE<\/strong> (IEEE 802.3af) or from an external source (11 to 58 V<\/strong>).<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • Power output for connected 5, 9, 12 or 24 V<\/strong>: can only be switched on and off via the web interface.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • The power supply is galvanically isolated from other parts of the device.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • Easy configuration via the web interface.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • Switchable RS232 or RS485 interface.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • RS232 used: RxD, TxD, RTS, CTS, GND.<\/li>\n

      • RS485 used: RxTx +, RxTx-.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n
