{"id":48599,"date":"2025-09-17T18:08:56","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T18:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/becolve.com\/blog\/uma-nova-solucao-para-evitar-supply-chain-attacks-e-garantir-a-integridade-do-firmware-software-instalado-em-ambientes-ot-criticos\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T18:09:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T18:09:00","slug":"uma-nova-solucao-para-evitar-supply-chain-attacks-e-garantir-a-integridade-do-firmware-software-instalado-em-ambientes-ot-criticos","status":"publish","type":"blog","link":"https:\/\/becolve.com\/pt-pt\/blog\/uma-nova-solucao-para-evitar-supply-chain-attacks-e-garantir-a-integridade-do-firmware-software-instalado-em-ambientes-ot-criticos\/","title":{"rendered":"Uma nova solu\u00e7\u00e3o para evitar \u201cSupply Chain Attacks\u201d e garantir a integridade do firmware\/software instalado em ambientes OT \/ Cr\u00edticos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section bb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.19.3&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Foi em novembro de 2014, quando public\u00e1mos este <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciberseguridadlogitek.com\/como-afecta-dragonfly-los-sistemas-scada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artigo<\/a> no qual explic\u00e1vamos como a <strong>APT Dragonfly<\/strong> tinha sido capaz de:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Aceder \u00e0s \u00e1reas de download de firmware<\/strong> das empresas <strong>Mesa Imaging<\/strong> (fornecedor de c\u00e2maras utilizadas para vis\u00e3o guiada de ve\u00edculos em ambientes industriais), eWon e MB Connect (fornecedores de solu\u00e7\u00f5es para acesso remoto e telegest\u00e3o de ambientes industriais).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modificar o software\/firmware<\/strong> (principalmente drivers) leg\u00edtimo e os certificados emitidos pelos fabricantes, incluindo no firmware um malware malicioso (um troiano em particular).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proporcionar aos utilizadores o acesso<\/strong> a este firmware \u201cmodificado\u201d, de forma que a infe\u00e7\u00e3o se realizava atrav\u00e9s do download e instala\u00e7\u00e3o do referido firmware n\u00e3o leg\u00edtimo.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A ast\u00facia do <strong>grupo APT<\/strong>, juntamente com, provavelmente, a aus\u00eancia de procedimentos e sistemas que permitissem comparar <strong>a fun\u00e7\u00e3o Hash<\/strong> primig\u00e9nia fornecida pelo fabricante com a que se obteria ap\u00f3s descarregar o firmware, fizeram com que diferentes empresas dos setores farmac\u00eautico, alimentar, de bebidas e \u00e1guas fossem infetadas.<\/p>\n<p>Este tipo de ataques, conhecido como <strong>\u201cSupply Chain Attack\u201d<\/strong>, \u00e9 cada vez mais comum. De facto, no \u00faltimo relat\u00f3rio publicado pela ENISA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enisa.europa.eu\/publications\/enisa-threat-landscape-report-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(ENISA Landscape 2018)<\/a>, faz-se men\u00e7\u00e3o em v\u00e1rias ocasi\u00f5es a este tipo de amea\u00e7a. <\/p>\n<p>Com o objetivo de evitar este tipo de ataques, o fundador da <strong>Tofino Eric Byres<\/strong>, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com o DHS (Department of Homeland Security), criou uma nova empresa chamada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adolus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adolus<\/a> que desenvolveu uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o denominada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adolus.com\/meet-sta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FACT (Framework for Analysis and Coordinated Trust).<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Como funciona o FACT?<\/h4>\n<p>De forma resumida, o FACT funciona assim:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Os fabricantes que desenvolvem software ou dispositivos que cont\u00eam firmware\/software <strong>subscrevem o servi\u00e7o aDolus<\/strong> (atrav\u00e9s da solu\u00e7\u00e3o FACT).<\/li>\n<li>As empresas (utilizadores finais) que utilizam estes software\/dispositivos <strong>podem validar as corre\u00e7\u00f5es e atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es<\/strong> de software novos antes de os instalar em equipamentos cr\u00edticos.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Na figura seguinte, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adolus.com\/how-it-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acess\u00edvel aqui,<\/a> resume-se como funciona o FACT.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28441 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/becolve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Basic-STA-Data-flow_cropped.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"536\" height=\"390\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>A)<\/u><em><u> Os \u201cVendors\u201d criam um Digital Fingerprint<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Os <strong>fabricantes certificados pela Adolus<\/strong> criam uma \u201cdigital fingerprint\u201d do software\/firmware leg\u00edtimo que desenvolveram. A transfer\u00eancia desta <strong>\u201cdigital fingerprint\u201d<\/strong> \u00e9 realizada atrav\u00e9s de uma comunica\u00e7\u00e3o encriptada para o servidor da Adolus. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28443 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/becolve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/vendor1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"269\"><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>B) <\/u><em><u>O FACT verifica a autenticidade do firmware\/software<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dentro do <strong>FACT<\/strong>, verifica-se a autenticidade dos arquivos remetidos e guarda-se no que se denomina <strong>\u201cTrust Repository\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A partir do Trust Repository<\/strong>, procede-se \u00e0 an\u00e1lise e \u00e0 compreens\u00e3o aprofundada dos subcomponentes do software e se cont\u00e9m vulnerabilidades.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28445 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/becolve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/vendor2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"545\" height=\"344\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>C) <em>O \u201cAsset Owner\u201d comprova a integridade do firmware\/software que pretende instalar.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dentro do FACT, o utilizador descarrega o firmware\/software que pretende incorporar\/atualizar no seu ambiente cr\u00edtico ou de produ\u00e7\u00e3o da forma habitual (DVD, download, ISO, etc.).<br \/>Com o firmware\/software descarregado, acede ao FACT e, com a ferramenta cliente, cria a sua pr\u00f3pria \u201cdigital fingerprinting\u201d do referido firmware\/software.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D) <em>O FACT realiza a compara\u00e7\u00e3o entre ambos os Digital Fingerprints<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O FACT compara a <strong>digital fingerprint<\/strong> do fabricante (localizada no Trust Repository) com o digital fingerprinting gerado pelo utilizador.<br \/>Se coincidirem, <strong>o software\/firmware \u00e9 leg\u00edtimo<\/strong>; caso contr\u00e1rio, foi modificado ou alterado. Al\u00e9m disso, o FACT fornece uma pontua\u00e7\u00e3o do grau de seguran\u00e7a do firmware\/software, fornecendo uma an\u00e1lise das principais vulnerabilidades encontradas. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28448 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/becolve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/FACT.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"549\" height=\"470\"><\/p>\n<h4>Quer ver um exemplo?<\/h4>\n<p>A seguir, podemos ver um exemplo de como se realiza este <strong>fluxo na Adolus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Um utilizador tem de atualizar o firmware de um <strong>PLC da Rockwell.<\/strong> Fornecem-lhe este ficheiro \u201cPN-85386.bin\u201d para o efeito. \u00c9 fi\u00e1vel? <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28451 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/becolve.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PLC-rockwell.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"308\"><\/p>\n<p>2. Em paralelo, \u00e9 absolutamente necess\u00e1rio contar com um modelo de controlo no qual tenham sido concebidas e escritas pol\u00edticas e procedimentos espec\u00edficos que padronizem a forma de
