Success story
Alcoa
- A solution that could be integrated with our global platform for Order-To-Cash (OTC) process management, based on Oracle Applications
- The project required designing a new interface to integrate the ERP and manufacturing operations processes, with the ultimate goal of optimizing efficiency, completing the monitoring of operations and inventory, and replacing the legacy plant management system.
- The idea was to optimize the MES solution already operating in other Alcoa plants and implement it in the remaining facilities dedicated to the same activity.
- There were differences between the factories in terms of working methods, so one of the main challenges was to harmonize criteria to achieve a satisfactory solution for the local managers of Amorebieta
The Alcoa factory in Amorebieta has achieved:
• Complete monitoring of work orders and inventory in the plant
• Greater ease in the distribution and organization of tasks
• Visibility regarding efficiency, showing opportunities to optimize processes
• Transparent integration with existing systems (ERP, control systems, chemical analysis systems)
• Improved quality in management operations

Alcoa is one of the world leaders in aluminum production and technology with a presence in 35 countries and more than 200 offices. It currently has eight production centers located in different communities in Spain, from where innovative solutions are offered to customers in the main markets on a global scale.
Specifically, the plant located in Amorebieta (Vizcaya) specializes in the production of high-quality rolled aluminum in coils for high value-added products – such as lithographic and gloss products – that require an extremely pure raw material and are also obtained in other Alcoa centers from the Amorebieta plant.
