The beginning of Valmet Automotive’s activity dates back more than four decades. Headquartered in Uusikaupunki, they have more than forty years of experience in the production of premium vehicles, including Porsche sports cars, which have consolidated their global reputation. But the market evolves, and with it the companies, as long as they wish to stay afloat.
This is the case of Valmet Automotive, which has recently focused its efforts on the production of electric vehicles. One of them, the Think City, stands out for its energy efficiency (which is three times greater than a traditional engine car) and its low emissions. Likewise, the company intended to continue with the production of the rest of the models.
Two Needs Found: Produce more and Produce Better
Prior to the project, therefore, the company’s main objective was to ensure that its manufacturing plant operated with the highest possible performance and efficiency. Similarly, faced with a market that increasingly demanded more sustainable transport solutions, whose energy source was not fossil fuels, Valmet Automotive saw the need to, in addition to producing electric vehicles, do so more efficiently, optimizing its production and responding as quickly as possible to the growing demand.
The implementation of AVEVA MES allowed Valmet Automotive to integrate its automation and ERP systems much more efficiently, thereby improving its operational efficiency and manufacturing responsiveness.
