AVEVA Manufacturing Execution System (AVEVA MES) is a software for managing inventory, production, quality, and plant activities that helps to produce quality products at the lowest cost.

Its direct integration with AVEVA System Platform enables capturing and understanding the events that are generated in the plant. Additionally, it is capable of integrating with external systems such as SAP, OPC UA, Webservices, or databases and thus provides visibility of field operations in real time and throughout the company.

Thanks to a reusable, model-based approach that standardizes best practices, it allows defining different workflows that ensure useful and fluid communication between different systems, departments, and people.

Functionalities

Among the functionalities offered by AVEVA MES, you can choose those that best suit your needs:

Production Management

It is the main service of AVEVA MES. It allows you to control and supervise all stages of the production process in a factory.

Management of work orders

Receive production orders from an external system, such as MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) applications, SQL databases, or Excel files. You can also create them manually.

Real-time monitoring of production status

Monitor the progress of work order execution, indicating the status, production levels, and deviation from the planned production speed.

Forms and checks

Send 100% configurable forms and checklists to the corresponding operator for them to enter into the system.

Agile production

Know exactly what is happening in your facilities, what is planned, and what may occur. Obtain the data necessary to understand the true capabilities and increase improvements, flexibility, and responsiveness to change planned manufacturing or lines based on demand.

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)

In addition, thanks to the real-time monitoring of OEE indicators, the software maximizes production and improves the use of equipment.

Real-time OEE monitoring

Through a web page, control how each piece of equipment is functioning and its performance, quality, and availability indicators. Likewise, you can see the production speed and the default batch size, as well as the line to which the equipment is assigned and the work order currently executed on it.

Machine status monitoring

Manage the number and duration of utilization states by groups of reasons and codes for this equipment.

Identification of bottlenecks

The production of the line is as effective as the slowest unit in it. Get a panoramic view of the current state of the line to focus on the equipment with «bottlenecks» in the line and thus improve performance.

Equipment Utilization and Justification of Stops

Another tool that can be very useful is obtaining a clear view of the different states through which the machinery passes, as well as a detailed record of the interruptions that impact performance.

Electronic record of equipment statuses

Create an electronic record of all utilization events for each production or packaging unit and track changes. For example, you can record when equipment is started or stopped to perform a job, or when it is stopped for repair or maintenance.

Automatic event capture

Automatic event capture can reveal short stops of a few seconds, which are difficult to track and can represent hidden or unmeasured capacity losses.

Traceability and Reports

AVEVA MES also allows you to record all the events that are generated in your factory, either manually or automatically, to contextualize them and be able to make data-driven decisions.

Traceability throughout the production process

Get real-time visibility of all production processes, from planning and configuration to the execution of operational activities.

Material genealogy

Track historical and current values of total material consumption, batches, WIP stock, waste, and finished products, as well as other important production events.

Get the most out of your data

All information is open and recorded in a SQL Server database, so you can generate custom dashboards or reports with SQL or BI (Business Intelligence) clients.

SQL Reporting Services reports

In line with the previous point, create your own reports or use those that we provide by default: Equipment Production, Line Production, Utilization by Equipment, Utilization Analysis, OEE Analysis, Mean Time Between Failures, Mean Time Between Repairs, Utilization Calendar, etc.

Quality Management and SPC

Quality matters, a lot. Therefore, the software increases efficiency for the capture and monitoring without waiting for critical quality information in the plant.

Creation and configuration of sampling plans

  • During the production chain, sampling plans are generated automatically based on shift, calendar, manufacturing order, units produced, or batch change. Create plans that evaluate the events and frequencies of quality data collection to safely and completely cover this action throughout the process.
  • Define the quality specification for a product, an operation, or part of an equipment, with the required variables, the SPC rules, and a plan for the collection of sampling data.

Data sampling automation

Integrate with equipment controls and automate a virtually immediate capture of production quality data.

SPC monitoring

Monitor these data in SPC graphs and real-time rule violation notifications.
