We are Renewing Content and Opening New Support Services for our Clients
All the scenarios presented by the new industrial paradigms (Industry 4.0, Digital Transformation, IoT, …) have something in common: a constant exchange of information is necessary between the different elements that make up an installation, a factory, or a set of them. Faced with this need, a set of industrial protocols emerged as technological alternatives. A few years later, this phase of technological divergence is coming to an end, and it is becoming clear which of them will be established as market standards: OPC UA as a protocol with an industrial focus, and MQTT and REST as an IoT standard. Generally, today, this type of device and system integration initiative is under control; it is known how to do it, and the work is more about choosing the right tools and executing the projects. The challenge now is communication and interconnection between different systems. Once we have learned how to communicate field devices with plant supervisors and controllers, the next step is to connect the other elements: ERPs, access management, IoT platforms, various traceability systems, environmental control, energy, warehouse control, traceability, laboratories, and a long etcetera where each sector and installation has its specific situation. Aware that needs and technologies evolve, at Industrial Communications by Logitek, we have renewed the content of our training courses and increased our portfolio of services.
Training:
In our OPC technology course, the core remains OPC technology: what it is for, differences between OPC DA and UA, how to use it, how to maintain it, … both theoretically and practically. Even so, new modules have been added to show participants how to interconnect field information with different systems or even different systems with each other.
With theoretical and practical training, the attendee will not only finish the course knowing how to connect any type of industrial device with their controller via OPC, but also how to communicate that information with databases, IoT platforms, Big Data platforms, ERPs, etc.
