Forced One-Way Communication
The Fox DataDiode ANDEAN establishes a simplex optical connection between two network domains, allowing data to flow only from the source environment (upstream) to the destination environment (downstream). There is no possibility of return, either physically or logically, thus preventing any attempt to access or exfiltrate data from the network with a lower level of trust.
No Configuration, No Software, No Backdoors
The optical module is physically separated from the rest of the system and does not incorporate programmable logic, firmware, or software. This design completely eliminates digital attack vectors, including backdoors, configuration vulnerabilities, or side-channel attacks. Furthermore, by not requiring patches, updates, or constant supervision, it allows continuous and predictable operation with minimal operating costs and without dependence on periodic maintenance tasks.

Specifically, the device incorporates two Intel i7 processors, 32 GB of RAM (2 × 16 GB), and a 512 GB SSD. It also has accessible connectivity with two front USB ports, a front HDMI output, and a rear 1 Gbps RJ45 port. With reduced energy consumption and no need for field adjustments, it adapts perfectly to critical installations that require high availability with energy efficiency.
Optical Physical Connectivity
The separation between the transmitting and receiving interfaces is carried out by means of a dedicated optical module, which imposes an irreversible unidirectional flow. This certified component (Common Criteria EAL7+) ensures that there is no return channel, thus guaranteeing absolute isolation between domains.
