Operation Based on Physical Isolation
Forced One-Way Communication
The Fox DataDiode establishes a simplex optical connection between two network domains, allowing data to flow only from the source environment (upstream) to the destination environment (downstream). There is no possibility of return, either physically or logically, thus preventing any attempt to access or exfiltrate from the network with a lower level of trust.
No Configuration, No Software, No Backdoors
As it does not have any programmable components, the device cannot be configured, exploited, or manipulated remotely. This absence of internal logic eliminates the need to apply updates or patches, and makes it a stable and predictable solution for long-term deployments.

Resistant Design, Prepared for the Field
Mounted in a 1U metal chassis compatible with 19” racks, the Fox DataDiode Ruggedised is manufactured with coated steel and anodized aluminum. It offers vibration resistance (MIL-STD 810F) and shock resistance (MIL-STD 810G, 40g, 11 ms), and operates continuously in a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C, with relative humidity up to 85% without condensation.
Redundancy and Energy Efficiency
The device incorporates dual power input (IEC320 C13) to ensure high availability, and its energy consumption is only 3.2 W, suitable for environments that require continuous energy efficiency. It uses LC optical connectors and supports OM3/OM4 multimode fiber with a range of up to 550 meters.
