Introduction
The Headstation 1Z is an improved type that contains a ProfiTrace core to monitor 4 PROFIBUS networks and an advanced web server for permanent remote maintenance of the PROFIBUS installation via Ethernet (the hardware is identical to a Head Station type 1A type 1C.
For monitoring, repeater modules or slave modules are required to provide PROFIBUS telegrams on the backplane network.
Through the ProfiTrace 2 software package, OPC tags can be transmitted directly from the Head Station type 1Z main module. ProfiTrace 2 will run with full monitoring functionality and the user can benefit from its features.
The Head Station main module provides power to all modules through its redundant power supply. Type 1Z is a temporary replacement unit for the Head Station type 1C main module. Its functionalities are the same with the following limitations:
- Fixed license included. No updates are possible
- Compatibility with 3 PROFIBUS networks instead of 4
- Not compatible with CommDTM
