LD232 (Long-distance RS232) is a set for extending the RS232 line, with a maximum working distance of 1200 m, surge suppression, and galvanic isolation.
A pair of LD232A and LD232B modules extends the RS232 line to a maximum distance of 1200 m. Both modules feature galvanic isolation and surge suppression against any interference on the extension line.
RS232 is connected from the PC to the LD232A module using a direct cable. All signals are converted and isolated, then transmitted to the remote LD232B module, where those signals are converted back to RS232. Each signal is transmitted through a pair of cables via the RS422 line. This line is highly resistant and impervious to most electromagnetic interference.
