RailBox V2 is a rugged device designed for railway and light rail applications. It can be mounted on trains, subways, streetcars, or any equipment requiring robustness and high bandwidth for innovative services in motion.
RailBox V2 can be implemented by system integrators and railway vehicle manufacturers looking to establish a reliable, efficient, and agile network for: – Uninterrupted train-to-track communications (CBTC, CCTV, VoIP, preventive maintenance, PIS…) – Train and car coupling to establish an end-to-end Ethernet and IP backbone network – Passenger services such as on-board WiFi, video streaming, entertainment, infotainment… – High-speed data download at the station or depot
The device is based on multi-stream MU-MIMO and beamforming technology that contributes to extended coverage, higher data throughput, and increased radio link reliability.
It meets the most stringent requirements in terms of operating environment: from -25°C to +70°C (extended: -40°C to +70°C), shock and vibration proof, dust and water protection (IP66).
RailBox V2 is an evolution of Railbox, with exactly the same size (same dimensions and same connectors). This allows a smooth and cost-effective upgrade for customers already equipped with Railbox products.
