RailTrack is a robust WiFi access point specially designed for railways and certified for infrastructure on tracks and in tunnels. It can connect to the terrestrial network via Gbps copper or fiber optic connections.

Thanks to an oversized CPU architecture (Quad-Core 64 bits) and three independent high-speed 802.11ac radio cards (3 streams) offering more than 900 Mbps (UDP) each, the RailTrack access point allows the construction of high-performance architectures such as a “wireless trunk” to overcome Ethernet cables along tracks and tunnels: 2 radios can be used to build the wireless infrastructure on the tracks while the third radio is used as a local AP to provide communication between clients on the track and on board (train).

With an IP66 housing and rugged M12 connectors, RailTrack is ideal for wall mounting in a tunnel or mast mounting outdoors. Its compact all-in-one size integrates 3 radios, a 4-port Ethernet switch (2 x 10/100/1000 on M12 connectors and 2 x Gigabit fiber optic in SFP slots) with optional Ethernet bypass (daisy-chain topologies) and an AC power supply. A removable key (C-KEY) allows you to back up the device configuration. Therefore, it can be restored instantly on site in less than 2 minutes in case of maintenance or replacement of a RailTrack.

RailTrack (AP unit on track) combined with RailBox (on-board WiFi unit) is the complete connected solution for “train-track on the move communication” by ACKSYS. This ACKSYS solution enables reliable and very high-speed broadband communications between the train and the track, especially adapted to the broadband radio system (BBRS) for real-time video surveillance, on-board Internet for passengers and CBTC applications.
