SB485 allows the transfer of small amounts of data over long distances using a common twisted pair cable. The maximum distance of 1200 m is suitable for most industrial buildings and complexes. RS485 and RS422 lines are commonly used in industrial environments for monitoring and control. Both lines use differential signals, which make them highly resistant to interference. With SB485, you can easily connect to these lines using your laptop or PC.
SB485 is available in two versions: SB485C and SB485S – the difference is in the RS485 connector

RS485 and RS422 Line Connections
For the RS485/RS422 side, we have used our proven UC485 converter circuit connection, which guarantees high reliability and ease of use. The RS485 signals are linked to a sliding terminal (SB485S) or D-SUB 9M (SB485C). The user can configure the RS485 line (bidirectional communication via 2 wires), the RS422 line (bidirectional communication via 4 wires) or the RS422 Multimaster (Multidrop) line.

Installation of the SB485 USB to RS485/RS422 Converter
The message “PaPouch USB-485/422 Convertor” of new hardware will appear after connecting SB485 to a Windows PC. Now you must enter the path to the VCP (virtual COM port) driver and confirm by clicking OK. A new COM port will appear in the system.
