Digital transformation and Industry 4.0 are fundamental terms for achieving the efficiency and competitiveness required in today’s industry. As a result, all forecasts predict that a large number of devices will be implemented and large platforms and systems will be integrated. Therefore, interoperability between them is essential.
But what is really meant by interoperability between devices? Interoperability does not only mean that devices and/or systems can exchange information, but that they do so using the most appropriate standard technologies for the current scenario and that allow them to adapt to future initiatives.
