The seventh edition of the Smart City Expo in Barcelona, the event for smart cities and urban solutions, will bring together 700 cities from around the world, 600 exhibitors, and more than 400 speakers. These figures befit an event that is already a global benchmark in the field of smart cities.
This year, the theme ‘Empower Cities, Empower Citizens’ will serve as the basis for bringing together managers and experts in urban solutions for three days, with the aim of creating a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of new initiatives. SCEWC 2017 will take place from November 14 to 16 at the Gran Via de Fira de Barcelona venue.
For our part, as in the previous edition, we will be at the Microsoft stand sharing the latest GISize! developments, our commitment to offering the end user better georeferenced information and more agile navigation through the visualization environments provided by Wonderware in infrastructure management. These developments are specified in the following points, especially related to navigation and communication in virtual environments:
- Allowing the user to operate in a completely digital world.
- Creating simulated environments available for different purposes, such as systems simulation or the advanced use of information in industrial contexts.
- Combining the real world with the virtual world to enrich the visual experience and increase the power of communication and its effectiveness.
- Displaying specific information in relation to the context and location of the person through a “wearable” or smart device.
As a solution for the geolocation of information in industrial environments or infrastructures, another series of relevant features will also be presented:
- An integration of Wonderware with any GIS provider, such as ESRI/ARCGIS, OpenStreetMaps, GoogleMaps, Bing, from the WMS standard or REST services. Also on cartography generated in CAD or vectorial formats.
- Native control via “multitouch” or gestures.
- GISize! ArchestrA App available for native use in InTouch OMI.
- Rendering of ArchestrA graphics from the cartography itself.
- Compatibility with System Platform 2017, InTouch OMI, InTouch for System Platform and the latest InTouch applications.
Our participation in the Smart City Expo 2017 will be a magnificent opportunity to learn about this solution up close and test its operation in virtual environments.
