MATcongress 2015, Event Summary of Real-Time Management

In itself, it was already a challenge, due to what it meant to take charge of the organization of an event that had already successfully celebrated its sixth edition. Then, due to the very demand that Wonderware Spain and Logitek had imposed on ourselves, if we accepted the challenge, it was to live up to it and, above all, to imprint our own, personal, corporate stamp on it that would respond to or identify us with our vision of what a technology event of these characteristics should be.

Thus, to begin with, a change of name, from Wonderware’s Wonderworld to the Meet and Talk Wonderworld Congress or MATcongress… now that a few months have passed since this change was decided, it is hard for us to imagine that the MAT was called something else in the past. Judging by the comments in this regard, we believe that we have been successful.

The same happened with the place chosen for the event, we defined MATcongress as The Technology Event for industry and infrastructure management in real time. A modern space was required, in line with the feeling of what was going to be told, debated, and shown there. The facilities of the Hotel Hiberus in Zaragoza and the design of the ephemeral furniture have created an ideal, avant-garde, clean, elegant, but also warm and welcoming environment.

But the most important thing, the crux of the matter, was the content of the congress itself, the presentations of the program. Divided into three tracks (industry, infrastructure, and technology), the speakers have been presenting their presentations, approaching all aspects or areas that revolve around real-time management: industrial communications, industrial cybersecurity, high availability, smart cities, infrastructure management, M2M… sometimes in more general or global approaches and in others with greater depth, going into specific details of each sector. All the sessions have been followed with interest and great attendance.

Another key aspect, which we wanted to reinforce with respect to past editions, has been the firm commitment to networking, dedicating an entire afternoon so that all attendees could tour the Exhibition Area, meet each other, and exchange information and opinions. The experience has been enriching, and the comments that have been sent to us regarding companies that have achieved positive contacts reinforce our initial idea.

We have started a new era with this event, our objective is for MATcongress to be a benchmark for industry and infrastructure management in real time. Still with the accumulated fatigue of an intense week, we are left with the feeling of having started off on the right foot and the certainty of being on the right track.
