Verdantix, an independent research firm focused on the digitalization of physical assets and operations, has named the Wonderware APM solutions (Asset Performance Management) portfolio as a market leader in its recent Verdantix 2020 Green Quadrant report.

Verdantix 2020 Green Quadrant

Solutions for maintenance management, Verdantix, 2020.

The report is aimed at heads of maintenance, engineering, operations, and safety and provides a detailed assessment of the most prominent global suppliers of asset performance management (APM) solutions. 11 suppliers were evaluated on 116 criteria, surveys were conducted with 284 engineering and maintenance managers, product functionality was reviewed on-site, and 10 in-depth interviews were conducted with end customers. This was our debut year with this report.

Wonderware’s APM credentials in the asset performance management market are impressive,” David Metcalfe, CEO of Verdantix.

We found that they have a much broader technology portfolio than most of their competitors and, as a result, can add value by trying to improve real-time industrial risk management, a more strategic goal than preventing asset failure and unplanned outages. None of the other APM vendors offer such a comprehensive set of capabilities. ”.

Verdantix recognized the value of the Wonderware portfolio for offering basic use cases for APM software, including visually appealing interfaces to support multiple user groups, as well as powerful functionality for asset condition monitoring and control and early failure prediction (Advanced Predictive). Consequently, our APM solutions offering was ranked in the top three for six of the eight use cases evaluated by Verdantix and scored highest for digital twins.

In addition, our APM solutions were also recognized for their ability to obtain multiple experiences with interactive user interfaces, as they scored highly for their mobile applications, augmented reality, wide-screen control center displays, and 3D digital twin models.

Today, Wonderware’s comprehensive APM portfolio is designed for organizations looking to use digital technologies to deliver an integrated approach to industrial risk management. It enables customers to achieve higher levels of reliability, availability, safety, and efficiency in the operation of their capital assets, as well as move from reactive and predictive maintenance to prescriptive maintenance. ”, commented Kim Custeau, VP Asset Performance, Wonderware APM – AVEVA.

We are delighted to have been recognized as the vendor with the strongest software capabilities. This recognition, along with the depth and breadth of our APM functionality, explains why the largest companies in the process industry, such as BASF, Duke Energy, Suncor, Total, Frito-Lay, and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, have placed their trust in Wonderware.

The analysis performed by Verdantix points out that the demand for APM software has increased significantly in the last five years and that global industry spending on APM software, related solutions, and services reached $2.3 billion in 2019. It concludes that the industry can achieve greater success by working with Wonderware’s APM solutions, as it has a product portfolio with high capabilities. In addition, it highlights that organizations already using Wonderware’s APM software are experiencing fewer problems in the development and implementation of maintenance by having a single supplier capable of addressing many of the commercial challenges they face.
