What’s New in System Platform 2020 R2

We present a more detailed look at the improvements in AVEVA System Platform 2020 R2

Solutions Manager Tehnical Engineer. Ingeniero industrial y Master ...

This year 2021 has brought with it the release of System Platform 2020 R2. This new version adds improvements in the trend of favoring communication and collaboration among workers in an organization. The new capabilities provide greater attention to presentation and visual style to help the operator locate and contextualize information. All these improvements are added to the many that were already incorporated in the System Platform 2020 version, released last year.

The following is a more detailed presentation of the improvements in AVEVA System Platform 2020 R2:

Layouts Can be Linked as Asset Content (Templates or Instances).

Link a Layout that resides in Graphic Toolbox to an asset or template and have it participate in auto-population when the associated asset is selected.

Layouts Have Owning Object.

The layout’s owning object can be assigned to it dynamically with this property in the same way as with Industrial Graphics, so its properties are automatically assigned to the attributes of the object that takes its control.

Use of Multiple Galaxy Style Libraries.

Create and manage multiple sets of Galaxy styles and switch between them at runtime.

Role-based Navigation Model.

Let the navigation model adapt and reshape based on the assigned roles of the logged-in user.

Dynamic External Content.

External content objects now support expressions that allow dynamic determination of content at runtime.

Layout Background.

Specify a background image and/or a background color for the Layout.

Alias Name as Read-Only Attribute.

The alias name used for navigation is now a complete attribute that can be referenced at runtime.

New OMI Graphic Repeater Application.

Enables visual representation of data using industrial graphics. A selected industrial graphic is repeated multiple times with custom data injected into each instance. Graphics can also be arranged in lists or grids.

Improvements to the OMI PLC Viewer Application.

Additional PLC languages and display options have been added, as well as support for Schneider Electric’s Unity Pro and EcoStruxure Control Expert.

Web Widgets.

Import web widgets and use them in “panes” and allow interaction with properties.

Flex License Mode Configuration.

Flex license mode configuration has been improved.

Licensing Improvements.

The Galaxy Repository continues to retry license acquisition after failing to obtain a license or losing an acquired license.

Industrial Graphic Cloud Storage.

Share and collaborate on industrial graphics between projects and developers using Integration Studio cloud storage.

Simple Unit Conversion within Historian Client.

Choose engineering units to automatically convert between, with 600 predefined catalog units and the ability to define custom units.

Historian Client Excel Add-in (64-Bit) Enhanced.

  • Batch-oriented summary statistics: create reports with slicing capabilities using an event identifier, batch number, or conditional states to obtain summary statistics
  • Dynamically update custom functions
  • Improved task pane: function signatures have been added for better reporting

Browser-based Historical Alarm Grid.

New alarm grid in AVEVA Historian Client Web that can be filtered based on model view or AVEVA InTouch HMI alarm groups.

Data Replication over Low Bandwidth Connections.

Support for data replication between Historians over high latency networks (ping times of several seconds across the network).

New Installation Option for Communication Drivers.

Communication drivers can now be installed directly as optional selections from the standard installer.
