Wonderware AVEVA Chosen as “Leader in the Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant” for MES Systems.

Gartner Inc. is a benchmark company in the field of research and market studies, in an independent and objective way. It currently has more than 170 Magic Quadrants published, which cover and relate different needs, functionalities and technological providers within the business environment.

We are very proud to announce that Gartner has placed Wonderware AVEVA in the Leaders quadrant in MES Systems, in its 2019 report. In this sense, they are a differential value:

1. Our Model Driven MES approach.
2. All the innovations made to be able to have this type of solution, both in the Cloud and in Hybrid architectures.
3. The new commercial models, more flexible, which include different subscription options.
4. Our new packaged MES/MOM solutions.

Thanks to these and other factors, our solutions have been a success, which, for sure, supports all the good reviews received in the Gartner Report valuations.

I why Gartner Has Chosen Us

In this same report, some of our strengths are highlighted in a notorious way:

1. Our MES/MOM solutions are strongly implemented in the Food&Beverage market (they are used in at least 23 of the 25 most important companies in the world).
2. All our solutions are open, modular and flexible, providing total independence between the MES/MOM layer and the Automation and Control layer. Being able to have, without any problem, different providers in each layer.
3. Our Model Driven MES approach, based on the creation of reusable templates, in which the business rules are modeled and where the entire manufacturing process is defined, as well as the related functions, such as: line operations, integration with the ERP, operator logbook, quality, inventory, programming and preparation of materials, etc…

This is very good news since, when Gartner began its research activities for the Magic Quadrant for MES Systems in 2017, we were invited to participate and we qualified. At that time, Gartner positioned our solution in the Visionaries quadrant (years 2017 and 2018).

It has been more than a decade since all organizations decided that they needed certain software systems, such as ERPs. Those that, at the time, opted for local or tailor-made solutions, have ended up replacing them with solutions that Gartner has been classifying as Leaders, with the economic and opportunity costs that this has implied for them. This same process that has been taking place in the world of ERPs, without a doubt, will be reproduced in the world of MES/MOM Systems.

The conclusion that we would like our clients to reach, like Gartner, is that, thanks to the technological evolution that we are having during these last years, betting on our technology will allow them to limit the risks and face the next challenges with the authority and tranquility of associating with a reliable and recognized Technological Partner.
