Success story
ENAIRE – SCADAS Implementation
- Unify a geographically highly distributed system, made up of a high number of servers in each region (in the most extensive one, about 100 AOS-CLIENT were integrated).
- Redesign the system to provide it with greater stability, availability and numerous new functionalities compared to the previous one.
- Integrate equipment of very diverse nature, where each equipment modeled within ORION had proprietary SCADA applications for configuration.
- Centralization of the supervision and management of Air-to-Ground communications equipment, Ground-to-Ground auxiliary systems and voice control and recording systems of the communications centers.
- Highly stable and available system, capable of assuming the inclusion of new communications centers.
ENAIRE is the main provider of air navigation services and aeronautical information in Spain, the fourth in Europe by traffic volume and one of the most important worldwide.
Organized functionally in five air navigation regions and through the five air traffic control centers, twenty-one control towers, communications centers spread throughout the national territory and a complete network of aeronautical infrastructures and equipment, it provides air traffic services for area control, approach and aerodrome, as well as flight information, alert and advisory services.
The project included the software development, supply, installation and commissioning (servers, communications elements, cabling, licenses) of what is necessary to integrate, in the SCADA ORION system, the supervision and management of Air-to-Ground communications equipment, as well as the basic supervision of Ground-to-Ground auxiliary systems and voice control and recording of ENAIRE’s communications centers.
To carry it out, the implementation of 5 independent SCADA systems was carried out, one for each air navigation region, which are managed at the software development level in a unified way.
