We are Participating in the HackOn!

Logitek's Industrial Cybersecurity division will be present at the first edition of the HackOn organized by the Rey Juan Carlos University on January 30, 2019.

Industrial Cybersecurity by Logitek, Logitek’s industrial cybersecurity consulting and engineering unit, will be present at the first edition of the HackOn organized by the Rey Juan Carlos University, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at the Móstoles Campus. Here you have more information about this event.

The “HackOn” is a conference related to cybersecurity or computer security, from its awareness to its implementation, addressing it from different points of view through talks and workshops. All activities will be informative and/or technical and are open to both students of the Rey Juan Carlos University and all attendees interested in them. The event is free and non-profit.

The event is organized by the volunteer students of the 1st promotion of the degree in Cybersecurity Engineering, a pioneering degree in Spain, with the collaboration of the coordinator of the degree Marta Beltrán Pardo, as well as the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering and the URJC.

Industrial Cybersecurity by Logitek will participate in the HackOn by conducting a workshop entitled “First Steps in Industrial Cybersecurity.” During this workshop, we will provide a brief introduction to industrial control environments so that attendees have a basic understanding of the type of hardware and software, as well as the communication protocols, that must be protected. Next, we will work on a PCAP file (extracted from an industrial environment) with different open-source tools that will allow attendees to perform an asset inventory, draw the network topology, understand which protocols are used and analyze their vulnerabilities, understand basic aspects about the process being controlled, etc. We will also show a model that represents the basic components of an OT (Operation Technology) environment and carry out different attacks on the different devices that compose it.

David Soler and Fernando Sevillano will be in charge of teaching this workshop, which will be held in classroom 103 of the Laboratorios III building on the Móstoles campus of the URJC.
