OEM:

Maintain Control of your Machines

Start with a solid foundation: to get the most out of your machines, you must know them better than they know themselves.

Do you know what your machines are doing?

The installed base significantly determines the reputation and success of a machinery manufacturer (OEM). However, for many of them, these assets are far from their control. Once the equipment leaves their facilities, it is beyond their reach and consideration. This scenario presents a series of unfavorable situations for both the business and the life cycle of the machines:

Maintenance

Without access to the status of the machines, the OEM depends on the end user. Therefore, maintenance and incident resolution services suffer and can cause production stoppages.

Design

The loss of opportunities when performing a reactive redesign is indisputable: design improvements are based on limited samples obtained from recurring failures.

Spare parts

By delivering the machine to other countries and disengaging from it, the OEM loses the business of selling spare parts, as local suppliers take care of spare parts and consumables (and not the manufacturer).

Services

Inability to offer new business models for service based on results.

Consequences of the lack of visibility

As we have seen in the four scenarios, the lack of information about the machines causes higher maintenance costs, lower reliability of the equipment, and non-optimized designs and operations. By having access to limited data, the frequency of visits to the plant inevitably increases, and with it, the service costs and problem resolution times. If design flaws are not detected in time, the performance of the machinery and its useful life will also decrease.

In short, when there is not enough visibility, the risk of equipment downtime increases, with the consequent impact on the end user’s production and on the reputation of the machinery manufacturer, which may cause the loss of a future sale.

How to remedy it?

Team up with your Machines: Provide Remote Access

Provide support to your customers by easily accessing the PLC of your machines while reducing travel costs and increasing the productivity of your technical support team.

Move from negative scenarios to tangible benefits:

  • Optimize the productivity of technical service engineers.
  • Facilitate remote assistance from your technical service team.
  • Increase your customer support capacity.
  • Drastically reduce travel costs.
  • Easily and quickly update PLC programs and project versions.
  • Monitor key KPIs of your machines and offer a better service to your customers.
